Creativity Conference a hit with teachers, artsworkers and carers
The inaugural Illawarra Children's Services Creativity Conference was held today at the Nan Tien Temple, Berkeley. Jan Deans, Director, Early Learning Centre, Boorai - The Children’s Art Gallery and Senior Lecturer (University of Melbourne) delivered the keynote address, ‘Giving Form to Feeling: the earth, the heart and the arts’. The conference also featured Simon Spain (ArtPlay), Dr Julie Dunn (Griffith University), Sue Elliott (RMIT University), Janet Andrews and Ann Lehmann (Wollongong Conservatorium of Music), plus live performances by Tyler Coppin and Heidi Hodeo. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Catch - Celebrating the contributions of young men in our region Illawarra Children's Services is proud to support Illawarra's Best Catch, a local event celebrating the efforts of young men who are making a difference in our community. This year, the event raised funds for My Place, a residential facility that provides housing and counselling services for homeless young people in our local area.
