Rock-a-lots Hit the Charts - Again!
Children’s music legends the Rock-a-lots have done it again, hitting the Australian Song Writing Contest’s top ten charts for the second year in a row.
They outshined 400 other entries in the children’s song category, with their song Happy Mothers Day placing ninth at the awards ceremony in Ashfield last Wednesday night.
“It would be great if we could retire on the strength of this but we just do it for fun,” said Rock-a-lots vocalist and guitarist John Littrich.
Australian Songwriters Association’s Clare Burgess said entries were judged on their lyrics melody, structure, arrangement and originality.
“It does come down to a good hook line,” she said.
The Rock-a-lots had three top ten finishes at the 2010 awards.
